About Skeen Plumbing & Gas, Inc
THE LEADING PLUMBER IN JACKSON, MS, AND SURROUNDING AREAS Since 1985 we have been serving the Jackson Metro area, as well as the state of Mississippi with the highest quality plumbing repairs, installations, and service. PIPE BURSTING IN JACKSON, MS, AND SURROUNDING AREAS Another facet of our Don’t Dig technology is pipe bursting in Jackson, MS, and the surrounding areas. Using this method, we essentially pull a new pipe through your existing sewer line. This method works especially well on lines outside the home. It allows for replacing the sewer line with a minimum of disruption to any existing pavement or landscaping. After using our color video systems to diagnose the problem areas in your line, we will pull a brand new pipe through the existing problem pipe creating a brand new sewer line. The HDPP pipe has heat-fused joints, creating a solid line the length of the existing pipe. This helps prevent future leaking joints and keeps the roots from trees, turf, and landscaping from entering the line and disrupting the proper flow of the sewer from the home or building. As with all sewer and drain jobs, we will use our color cameras to video the work to be sure that it was properly completed. We know you can’t see it in your drains so we will video it for you. If you require pipe bursting services, have a qualified plumbing company in Jackson, MS, and nearby areas to be in charge. More and more local property owners are choosing pipe bursting to replace subsurface piping without excavation, and we believe that you’ll appreciate the many advantages of this process. THE BENEFITS OF PIPE BURSTING This method of pipe repair requires very little digging, so it reduces or even eliminates the extensive property damage that’s associated with traditional pipe replacement work. It’s also an excellent option for replacing difficult-to-access pipes located under structures, roads, and driveways. We provide pipe bursting in: - Jackson, MS - Madison, MS APPLYING PIPE BURSTING TECHNOLOGY The pipe bursting process employs a drilling head to break up the old pipe. This drilling head is attached directly to a pipe puller that hauls a new pipe into place. Pipe bursting is an effective way to replace pipelines that can no longer perform properly due to extensive settling, irreparable damage, or lack of sufficient capacity. This does require significantly more equipment and labor than standard trenchless pipe repair so it should only be implemented if pipe replacement is the only option. SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TODAY Our team has been serving Jackson and surrounding areas for more than 30 years, and we’re fully licensed to perform pipe bursting and other no-dig pipe repair technologies. Skeen replaced the water line from the street to the house. Didn’t go as planned because the 60-year-old pipe between the street and the meter broke on the street side. A few thousand gallons of water later, the line was capped, the meter repaired by the water company, and the replacement was completed. Technicians were competent and polite; worked tirelessly to get the job done in spite of hard dirt and the line break. Price was reasonable. No complaints!

They fixed a slab leak a couple months back. As part of the diagnostics, they had to scope the line and pump out all the water that had leaked under the slab. The charge for that was around $1350. To fix the leak, they had to jackhammer the floor and install a new pipe. No issues so far. They discounted the diagnostics and gave us half off since we went with them for the full repair, which was around $4800. Since they were already there, I had them replace my two hot water heaters in the attic, which was around $4500 with installation. Three months later, the water heaters stop working. We call Skeen and ask them to send someone out to look at the brand new water heaters. He says that they shut off automatically because of the heat in the attics in Mississippi and that this has been an issue with these water heaters for several years. He then tried to charge us $200. That's right, a $200 charge to tell us they sold us faulty water heaters. We refused to pay. A month later Skeen sends us a bill for $1350 claiming we need to pay for the diagnostics for our slab leak, which we paid in full months earlier. We have used them to do sewage line clean-outs twice before this and once to fix a sump pump. In total, we have given Skeen about $12,000 in business the last 5 years, and yet this is how they treat us. For shame. What kind of business treats its customers like this? Update: Within 20 minutes of posting this Skeen called me and tried to intimidate me for posting this. Great "Family" company. There are lots of other plumbers in the area. I recommend you choose one of them.

They arrived quickly and on time. Very professional and charged reasonably to unstop my sewer line.

Wouldn’t even come to my house to bid on a $7000-$10000 job without charging me a service charge to do so. They will never get the consideration from me again. If they have so much work that they can’t spend $5 worth of gas and 30 minutes of their time to bid on a job then good for them. Had two other companies glad to free bid on the job. One got it.

We called Skeen to check out a leak outside of our house. Not only were they not able to fix the problem, they also told me that there was no leak and that the water was normal. This made no sense so I had to call another plumber who then found a tremendous leak and fixed it. Skeen then sent me a bill for over $1500. I called multiple times to dispute this charge and was repeatedly told the office manager would call me. I never received a call despite trying multiple times. After no communication and being put off, they sent me to collections. Do not use this company.

Skeen Plumbing was scheduled to be at my house between 10am-12pm, but they did not arrive until approximately 12:50pm. I was pleased with the work that they did in repairing a leak that I had under my kitchen sink. They made sure to explain to me why the leak occurred and what they were doing to repair it. They would have gotten a 5 Star review if they had arrived within the 2 hour window. I would contact them again for any future plumbing needs.

We called them to quote for Hydrostatic testing, Emily gave us the quote and we authorized them to do the job. Once the job was completed the technicians onsite gave us a bill for two times the amount of what she quoted us. We were given 3 different amounts to pay since then, won’t be paying nothing but what we were quoted. They even did another job at our home we didn’t authorize and trying to charge us for it. Absolutely horrible from start to finish. WOULD NOT recommend for absolutely nothing!

Had a very good experience with this company. They immediately sent someone out to fix the problem and even fixed another problem that they hadn't even been called about. Top notch company and we thank them for their help!

Would highly recommend this company! After two days of dealing with Draingo. I called this company directly and an actual Human answered the phone! She got someone on site at our home within 20 minutes. They diagnosed and corrected the problem in less than 15 minutes and charged us 3/4 less than draingo was charging. The company was Professional, was on time, and obviously knew what they were doing. I would highly recommend this company.

we woke up to no water in our home today. walked outside and found water bubbling up from the ground. i called Skeen's at 5:30am and told them what was going on and that i had turned off my water to the house. they kept me informed of when to expect their guys( i believe his name was Gray) and they showed up when expected. it only took 30 minutes to find the leak underground and fix it. we were so relieved and the price was very affordable. the guys were great and professional. been using Skeen since 1995, we wouldn't use anyone else for our plumbing needs. thank you all so much.

We have seen their truck in our neighborhood several times, so when we were replacing our bathroom sink and we discovered a leak, we decided to call them. $55 service charge (reasonable compared to a later experience with "Environment Masters"), they replaced both hot/cold valves and prepped the drain (the best they could, not having the new sink on site) for our new sink for a total cost of $250. These guys did a great job, quickly, and professionally! I would have hired them again, but they were really busy, so I rolled the dice and got snake-eyes with "Environment Masters." I regret not waiting for Skeen.

My business uses Skeen for our plumbing needs and it is always a positive experience. We have always had very professional and respectful people show up to our office to do the work required. The young lady who usually answers the phone is very nice, as well.
